The Heatherwood Riding Club started as a Ladies Riding Club and expanded to offer this opportunity to the gentlemen who either take lessons or bring their child to Heatherwood for lessons. Hence the name Ladies & Gent Riding Club.
The club is a wonderful way to enjoy horses, relieve stress, relax, get some exercise and bond with the horses & adults who share a passion for horses. Set in a recreational & peaceful environment, the club gives our adults time away from the rest of life’s challenges.
The Ladies & Gent Riding Club is available to adult women & men who are taking lessons, have a child taking lessons, own a horse or are leasing a horse from Heatherwood. Our members like to get together and ride in the arenas or on our wooded trails. It is nice to be able to enjoy your time with someone else who enjoys being with and riding horses. Rides are scheduled through a group text or email and usually take place on the weekends or after work when folks are available.
We also have special Club times where riding & food are part of the experience ! Once per year we try to take the horses to Potato Creek State Park to ride the extensive trails in the park.
There is not a fee to be part of the club. Riders who own their horse and are boarding at Heatherwood or riders leasing a Heatherwood horse do not pay extra to ride with the club. Our adult riders who are taking lessons may exchange one of their lesson times and use it for the club ride or they may choose to keep their lesson times & pay for a student day lease which costs $40 .
